IKEA: Strengthening creative capacities
The Context
IKEA wanted to strengthen the creative and innovative capacity in certain parts of the organization. As a company with a constant focus on developing new solutions across the business, the goal was to provide store managers, product range managers, and designers with a common language and concrete tools for creative problem-solving and idea generation.
The Process
We designed a customized course focused on facilitating creative processes. The program guided participants through the fundamental principles of translating customer insights into creative challenges, developing new solutions, and presenting and evaluating ideas.
The course was conducted several times and rolled out in Sweden, the United Kingdom, Norway, and Germany.
The results
The tools were quickly adopted within the organization and used in internal workshops in the weeks following the program.
Several of the ideas developed during the course were subsequently implemented in the business.
The partnership with IKEA continued, with a focus on further strengthening creative and innovative capabilities.
